Feedback provided to the tutee: I tried the activity with the short silent film video on YouTube and modified it for my lower-level beginner tutee. I gave a bit of an example so he could imitate me and we tried doing this in the present tense. More than narrating, I paused often to ask what was happening or to speak about what was going on. I wrote down grammar mistakes but also moments where he could not answer as opportunities for feedback. I was able to provide a lot of new vocabulary that was high frequency.
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: I learned that at a beginner level, seeing a film or a visual is a great way to remember or process vocabulary and seeing a silent film is a great way to test what you know or don't know.
