Topic/Skill: Speaking (Descriptions/Vocabulary) 

Feedback provided to tutee: We played the board game "Guess Who" to help Fatima expand her vocabulary through describing people and their features. She did great overall and I provided positive feedback through the entire game. The area she had a little bit of difficulty with was describing a persons feature with the specific term for the feature, for example she would say "do they have yellow hair?" instead of saying "are they blonde?" After the board game we went over different characteristics and features people have until she had a better grasp of the terms (ex: bald, blonde, brunette, ginger). Overall she got her questions and thoughts out with the meaning in tact which is the most important part.

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: I learned that board games or any activities is a fun way for students to learn new concepts. Listening to your student is a big part of teaching, creating lessons and activities based off their needs and wants will make them more inclined to learn.

Date/Time: November 3, 2023 Location: Student Union Topic/Skill: Scenario - Speaking Feedback provided to the tutee: In the beginning, I opened up a conversation about food, like traditional food, preferences, etc. Then I taught a couple of things like greetings, present simple tense, and the auxiliary "would." We also focused on some vocabulary relating to food before ending with a role-play play of ordering some food at Starbucks.
