Topic/Skill:Vocabulary in-context

Feedback provided to tutee: I taught Shrouq new vocabulary and comprehension skills in the context of a level-appropriate activity (Apples to Apples).

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or tutee: I learned that casual board games can lower ESL students' affective filters, making them more open to learning new words and even making mistakes. I will be incorporating many board games in my future lessons, depending on the students' level.

Date/Time: November 3, 2023 Location: Student Union Topic/Skill: Scenario - Speaking Feedback provided to the tutee: In the beginning, I opened up a conversation about food, like traditional food, preferences, etc. Then I taught a couple of things like greetings, present simple tense, and the auxiliary "would." We also focused on some vocabulary relating to food before ending with a role-play play of ordering some food at Starbucks.
