    Topic/Skill: Simple present tense (showed a video)

    Teacher Presentation: The teacher explained and defined what the simple present tense was. She then showed a video Take a tour of the international space center to the students and asked them questions throughout the video of the astronauts daily routines during their time in space. 

    Classroom Management: She went over the agenda at the beginning of class. Throughout the video she would ask the students questions to make sure they were paying attention while helping them structure their thoughts and sentences if needed. She called on students who needed the extra push to participate throughout the lesson and went to them if they needed help, or had any questions. 

    Materials: YouTube video - Take a tour of the international space center, worksheet based on video and whiteboard. 

    Student Participation: Students answered all of the instructors question about the video, they gave their own opinions about the video and they completed the worksheet which consisted of write in questions.

    Feedback Provided: The teacher would provide feedback based on their grammar structure, how they structured their sentences when writing and speaking. She was very encouraging with her students and always provided positive feedback. 

    Lesson on teaching you learned: How to create a safe environment where students feel comfortable to speak and express their ideas by engaging with students, encouraging students to speak in class by asking them questions, making jokes and providing positive feedback.

Date/Time: November 3, 2023 Location: Student Union Topic/Skill: Scenario - Speaking Feedback provided to the tutee: In the beginning, I opened up a conversation about food, like traditional food, preferences, etc. Then I taught a couple of things like greetings, present simple tense, and the auxiliary "would." We also focused on some vocabulary relating to food before ending with a role-play play of ordering some food at Starbucks.
