Topic/Skill: Reading comprehension and pronunciation

Feedback provided to tutee: I evaluated her homework and helped her with reading comprehension and vocabulary through context clues.

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or tutee: I learned that when ESL students get to apply new vocabulary in their own sentences (rather than the ones the teacher gives them), they tend to remember it more. Students want to be active in their own learning, and greatly benefit from praise and encouragement!
