Topic/Skill: Writing composition

Feedback provided to tutee: We went over some writing samples and proofread them together. I encouraged her to find her own mistakes and helped her with anything she did not understand.

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or tutee: Writing composition might perhaps be the hardest skill to teach, due to the simple fact that many structure rules are not the most intuitive. With that being said, giving the students the chance to find and correct their own errors helps them remember them much more than if fixing the errors for them.

Date/Time: November 3, 2023 Location: Student Union Topic/Skill: Scenario - Speaking Feedback provided to the tutee: In the beginning, I opened up a conversation about food, like traditional food, preferences, etc. Then I taught a couple of things like greetings, present simple tense, and the auxiliary "would." We also focused on some vocabulary relating to food before ending with a role-play play of ordering some food at Starbucks.
